porn.dot stems from the idea of transforming one of the major taboos of contemporary society into the language of children’s play. The project takes explicit pornographic images and strips them of their descriptive function, educing them to a sequence of dots and lines inspired by children’s “connect-the-dots” games. While as children these games invited us to discover an image through curiosity and imagination, porn.dot applies this mechanism to content situated at the opposite extreme of our visual education.

By removing nearly every explicit detail, the work dissolves the sexual act into an abstract composition of signs: Absence as Censorship: The image is not hidden by black bars or pixels, but by absence itself. What remains is a delicate graphic structure; the explicit body loses its immediate impact to become an object of contemplation. Beauty emerges from what has been removed.

The viewer is invited to mentally reconstruct the missing image. Unlike a children’s game, however, there is no single path, the image is completed through each person’s personal memory and visual experience. Ultimately, porn.dot explores the mechanisms through which images acquire meaning. The project asks whether an image remains explicit when there is almost nothing left to see, demonstrating how censorship, memory, and imagination.
